Mary Smith, M.D.

Dr. Mary Smith is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine who has been a valued member of Carolina Internal Medicine since 2005. She relocated to Asheville from Johnson City, Tennessee, bringing with her a strong commitment to patient-centered care and a passion for building long-term relationships with her patients. Dr. Smith earned her undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in 1993, followed by her medical degree from the James H. Quillen College of Medicine in 1998. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at East Tennessee State University in 2001, where she developed a comprehensive clinical foundation and a dedication to evidence-based practice. Outside the office, Dr. Smith enjoys an active and fulfilling lifestyle with her husband. Together, they enjoy running, biking, traveling, and participating in a variety of sports. She is also actively involved in her church community and values spending time outdoors, especially walking their dogs.
